Starlights on Fabric - A Present for Me!!!

Golden Fairies

This 6x6 card was the result of playing with Flitterglu and gilding flakes. I have layered the main card onto gold mirror card and then black card to make it pop. The text is from a Tim Holtz Stampers' Anonymous set and is one of my favourites. The main panel was made by inking with Distress inks and Inkilicious brushes using green and yellow tones. I have then stamped the dandelions from Lavinia Stamps in plain ink to create the background. Over the top of this I have used the dandelions again, this time stamping with Flitterglu and adding some golden gilding flakes. The fairies are also from Lavina, this time stamped and embossed with detail powder.

Paper Weaving and Embossed Tiles

Both of these cards were made in another class with Lisa (there is a theme going on here...) The first to my right, was made using some strips of coordinating papers to create a weaved effect (possibly Tim Holtz papers?). We started by attaching each strip of paper to some adhesive sheets. Then we cut the strips in the opposite direction to the way they were laid, and made them all the same width. On the base card some Distress Inks were used to make some patches with a honeycomb style stencil. These patches were entirely random. The strips were then cut to different lengths and arranged in a pattern on the card front. There were some keys on the patterned paper we used, so these elements were cut out and dotted in any gaps. The final sentiment was stamped in brown ink,embossed with clear powder and matted on some distressed co-ordination card stock. The stamp was from a 'Butterfly Kisses Stamp' set with a collection of male stamps.

The card to my left was made using a floral Woodware stamp (I think!). The image was stamped directly onto the right hand side base card with Versafine black ink. The small coloured panel was made using a combination of 3 bright coloured Distress Inks to colour a piece of white card. The floral stamp and message was then stamped on top of this. The whole panel was then inked with Versamark and embossed 3 times with UTEE to create a shiny tile. I was a bit dubious about the bright colours at first, but once the card came together I really liked the effect!

Imagination is the key...

This is a 6x6 card made as a result of me playing with a few techniques. I started with plain white cardstock and lightly distressed all over with some Tim Holtz ink. I then stamped on this randomly using an Indigoblu Flouish stamp in a second generation of the same ink. Finally, I stamped again using the same flourish, this time embossing with Stampendous Frantage powder (amazing stuff!). The powder has white, blue and gold in which gives lovely texture and interest. The brown swirls are a Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz die and the flowers have been cut using my Cricut Flower Shoppe cartridge. The fairy and mushrooms (Lavinia) were stamped into an image cut from a Cricut Storybook shape. Again I have used 2nd and 3rd generations of ink here, with the fairy being embossed with glittery powder. The text is from Tim Holtz mounted on a Spellbinders D-Lites shape.
