Sledging Away with LOTV

I love all the craft card that is about at the moment, and I fancied teaming it with some other earthy colours. I have used Distress Inks to bring out the different layers and also to define the Spellbinders die-cut image. The image and the sentiment are from LOTV. I love this stamp because it reminds me of our little dog and my boys having fun; one of those sweet moments in time that we cherish. I have coloured the image using Distress Markers in coordinating earthy, pastel colours. The watercolour card has then been cut-out using Spellbinders Resplendent Rectangles. The flowers are die-cut poinsettias from a Marianne Creatables die. The papers are from a DCWV pad and the snowflake edge is a Memory box die. The seam binding bow, some pearls and some die-cut lea'bilities trees were the final touches, along with some glitter, of course!

A New Baby Boy!

Ok, so it's not hard to guess the theme here! There seems to be a trend for lots of babies where I work at the moment...
Anyway, I wanted to make something for my friend, so here was the prefect excuse to make a bag charm again! I ordered some baby charms and had fun choosing blue and clear beads to make the charm.





 The card has been made using a Lili of the Valley image coloured with Promarkers as well as one of their funky sentiments. The elements were layered onto Spellbinders Circles Large and Scalloped Circles, as well as a Decorative Labels One die. The stars were cut using my Cricut machine and the Essentials cartridge. A small piece of lace and some buttons were used to bring it all together.

A Birthday Fairy Shaker Card

This was an 8x8 card made for my daughter's 10th birthday. She had previously said how much she liked shaker cards and she is mad about fairies, (can't think where that comes from!) so here it is!
The main die set is the Tonic Moonglade Wish set. I have used a sheet from the First Edition Dreamcatcher pad for the background paper and layered lilac paper on top of this. The main centre panel was a large square cut in purple paper, with the inner die sections only used to cut the shape and 'leave it in' the card. A piece of acetate was used behind the cut section to seal it. This centre panel was then mounted on foam to raise it up and create a space for the shaker glitter and sparkles to be added. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and has been cut and mounted onto a Spellbinders Lacey Circles die. The butterflies have been cut using a die from the Tonic Butterfly Purse corners set and some ink has been used through the die to highlight the embossing. Pearls to finish and done!

Tonic Fairy Birthday Card

I was lucky enough to be given a set of Tonic fairy themed dies for my birthday this year. I hadn't really used Tonic dies before, but I really like the way you can interchange them with each other. The die used here is called 'Moonglade Wish' and comes in 4 parts. This card is an 8x8 card, with the front card piece folded back on itself. The folded section was then cut using the die, but not with its matching edger (meaning that the aperture remains inside the cardstock). The outside edger was then cut out completely on some purple card and laid over the top to create a see-through lacy effect. The same principle was used for the panel on the other side, (rear card piece) although this was not left see-through, as I mounted a large piece of pink card behind it. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley and has been stamped, cut out and mounted on card stock cut using a Spellbinders Lacey Circle die. Once attached to the front panel, a second lacy circle was applied to the back for neatness.  The fairy's wings were also highlighted by cutting a piece of glitter card and laying it behind the wings. Finally 6 diamantes were used for the corners and the stars on the front. The insert was made using coordinating card stock and placed on the inside of the card, behind the folded front section.

Lacey Engagement Wishes

This card was my first made using Tattered Lace dies. I matted and layered snow white Centura Pearl and lilac card stock onto an 8x8 blank.The centre piece I die cut twice top and bottom with the Tattered Lace Chantilly Flourish die. I then removed the cut pieces and put the main card section through an A4 Crafts Too embossing folder. The die cuts were then gently glued back into position and a matching piece of ribbon placed across the middle. The Lili of the Valley sentiment has been dry embossed in silver before being cut and mounted using Spellbinder Classic Circles Large and Lacey Circles. All the crossing sections from the embossing folders have had tiny gems added in matching colours, and a random dot/dash pattern has been doodled along the edge to finish it off.

Birthday Lovely Lili!

Morning all! This stamp is definitely getting a good run! Again, I love this girly from LOTV, (called Summer Lovely Lilli) and here I have used lots of shades of pink to complement her and make the ultimate, flowery, girly card! I have used my Cricut Storybook cartridge to cut the basic topper shape and again to matt. I have also used the same cartridge to cut some decorative corner flourishes and another, smaller shape to add dimension and layers. The flowers and buttons are from my stash and the papers are from the First Edition Dreamcatcher pad. The main image has been coloured with promarkers and the sentiment has been stamped using a Popcorn sentiment (I think!) As this month's theme for the LOTV challenge blog is 'Anything Goes', I thought she would be perfect to enter!

Layering Spellbinders

This card was inspired by Julia Watts from Creative Expressions. I do not often use lots of Spellbinders shapes layered together, but seeing Julia do it, I thought I would give it a go! The main colour was chosen as it was for a lady who loves purple. I started with white card stock and distressed using Milled Lavender and Dusty Concord Distress Inks. I then randomly stamped a flourish stamp I have from Hunkydory. The darker purple panel has been embossed using a Couture Creations embossing folder and edged with lace. The die cut flourishes have been cut using a Tim Holtz Sizzix Bigz die (elegant flourish) and coloured using the same inks as before. The main sentiment is from LOTV and has been layered several times with Persian Spellbinder's dies, Lacey Circles and Basic Circles. The flowers are from my stash. I have used decoupage pads to add some height, so it is quite a fat card!

Thank You Teacher

At the end of another school year it's time to say thank you to those amazing teachers who inspire our little rugrats each day, so I thought I would use Crafter's Companion Popcorn the Bear to help me! I have coloured him using Tim Holtz Distress Markers on watercolour paper and cut out. This topper has then been layered onto a Spellbinder's circle shape to make it pop. The sentiment is a LOTV one. The doily in the background has been coloured using Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink and layered onto some Hunkydory card with a strip of some orange paper I had in my bits box. The butterflies are actually the waste elements cut out when cutting a Spellbinder's Butterfly Circle die!

Here is one of those lovely LOTV girlies again (Summer Lovely Lillies)! I have changed colours this time, choosing turquoise as my main focus colour. The background paper is from DCWV and I have added some white embossing. The main image has been stamped onto Neenah card and coloured using Promarkers. I have added some tiny gems to the centre of the flowers to make them pop a little. The base topper shape is a basic shape cut using the Cricut Storybook cartridge, as are the corner embellishments. The raffia, gems and skeleton leaves are from my stash, and the 'Wish' ticket is from Tim Holtz Adage Tickets.

Get Well Soon Teddy!

 This is another LOTV image, one that I think would brighten you up if you were feeling poorly! I have coloured the main image using Promarkers and the backing paper is from my stash (a DCWV one I think!). The sentiment is a Crafter's Companion one and the flower embellishment has been cut using my Cricut machine and the Art Nouveau cartridge. I have distressed the flower slightly to soften the edges (difficult to see in the photo I know!)

Beautiful Lili of the Valley girly!

Hi there, I have been a little quiet on the blog front this month, as I have been a busy bee working on a mammoth project in celebration of my 10th Wedding Anniversary! I have been sorting, organising and ordering 10 years worth of photos! These are then rapidly becoming a 40 page scrapbook as a present for my husband. I have never done scrapbooking before, so 40 pages with 10 different themes I think may have been a tad ambitious; but hey ho!

I have made a couple of cards though, and this lovely girly has inspired me for one of them. I know a lot of people don't like the missing features on these type of images, but I really like this one from LOTV. She is clearly happy! Both the sentiment and main image are from LOTV, the card from Hunkydory, flowers cut using Marianne Dies, and the rest of the bits and bobs are from my stash. I have coloured her with Promarkers.

Busy Fairies working their Magic!

Guess what...FAIRIES!! Ok, this may be a little repetitive, but this year my resolution was to make what I liked! Crafting is a pleasure for me and not a business, so why not! (although one day I would love to be part of a design team...here's dreaming!) I do have a few friends who are not so keen on flying folk though (boo), so will divert away from the theme for them!
This panel card was made using good old distress inks, to shade the background, followed by lightly stamping a flourish stamp in the same colour for subtle interest. The dandelions and fairies are, of course, Lavinia's. The flowers were stamped in purple and then I have used stickles to the stamens. The fairies and butterfly were stamped in black and then heat embossed with WOW glittery powders. The sentiment is from Lili of the Valley.

A Little Boy's Card!

This card has been made using a 'Lili of the Valley' stamp which I love! I have been experimenting with colours, but not sure about the purple I have used. I could not seem to find the right combination within my Promarkers... The sentiment is from a Woodware pack of stamps and the webs, spider and stars have been cut using my Cricut (Happy Hauntings and Essentials cartridges). The edging has been done using the darker purple Distress Ink (I always forget names!). I hope it is liked, but I will improve for next time!!

Lili of the Valley Girlies...

This card has been made as I love this little girl! She reminds me of my daughter! I have used some gorgeous paper from a pad called Dreamcatcher which is full of lovely purples and spring colours. She was actually coloured whilst my family was on holiday and I took some stamps and Promarkers with me! She has been cut out using a Spellbinders Standard Circles Large die and the accompanying Scalloped circle size. I have then layered with Dreamcatcher papers and cut some swirls using my Cricut Essentials cartridge. There are also some lace, pearls and flowers from my stash!

 Variation on a theme....slightly more simple though.

Another one of the LOTV girls and coloured at the same time as the one above! These were actually done in November, but it has taken me this long to get them onto cards! Never mind. Same principle as above; have also used a LOTV sentiment stamp on this one though. No lace on this one but larger flowers! I love using flowers, but am going for the flatter ones at the moment; I hate making boxes for all the raised ones...they never seem to look quite right to me. I do realise that this is user error though...

Lili of the Valley Christmas Cuties!

This card was made from one of the LOTV new stamps, I love this dancing girly, she is full of the joys! The sentiment is also one of their lovely circles and I have used Spellbinders to layer. Embellishments are from my stash: a wooden snowflake and some raffia. I have used some red ink to distress, but think I may have overdone this slightly? Still, we all need to experiment, don't we?

This is another of the LOTV images that I couldn't resist buying! I love these cats and decided to colour them to match the other things I had (actually did it the right way way round this time; normally I colour and then have no papers etc!). The colours are Promarkers and Flexmarkers, flowers from my stash and I have experimented with some of the baker's twine that seems to be everywhere at the moment!

A slightly different version; my first easel card! Thought I would try some frosty colours and I quite like them! Spellbinders used to layer, Cricut Paper Doll cartridge for the snowflakes and the sentiment is a Humphrey's corner one from Crafter's Companion.

Magical Birthdays

These are two cards I have made purely because I can't seem to get in the mood for making Christmas cards yet! I have used Papermania fantasy backing papers, a sentiment stamp from Lili of the Valley and stamps from Lavina to create the scene - yes even fairies do washing! The shaps have been cut using the Cricut storybook cartridge and the tiny silver flowers using a Pinflair multi-punch. There is glitter all around the fairies and unicorn, but the camera has not picked this up very well! Hope you like them xx

Celebrate and Bake!

This card has been made using a Lili of the Valley stamp that is so cute! The shapes have been cut using the Cricut Storybook cartridge. I love this stamp, it covers so many occasions and by changing the colours you can create a whole new feel! The image has been coloured using Promarkers.

Lili of the Valley Fairy - Going Sepia!

As you may have gathered from my blog so far, I love this fairy! I decided to try something new with her and try using only sepia tones to colour her in. The sentiment is from the Crafter's Companion Fairyopolis I have also used raffia to add to some random buttons I had, and some funky textured brown wrapping type stuff! I am still experimenting with texture, please add your comments if you have any suggestions! Her wings are outlined with dark pink glitter which you can't really see here, but it gives a nice sparkle to her! Thanks for looking x

Lili of the Valley Fairy with Cricut Frame

This is the same fairy holding a star, but this time I have used a Cricut background shape and then layered this for effect. I have also tried my hand at adding some flowers but the arranging of them seems to take practise!

Fairy Wishes

This is another of those beautiful Lili of the Valley fairies, I think this particular one is so delicate and I can't help wondering what she is thinking!

The fairy was coloured using Promarkers and the background shape was cut using a Spellbinders Labels One die. The flowers were punched from matching cardstock and finished with CardCandi (I recently discovered this at a craft fair and I am loving it!)
